Salesforce announces free access to force.com

Salesforce trying to entice ISVs and corporate developers to build applications on force.com providing free edition that allows users to develop one custom application that can be deployed to up to 100 users. The offer also includes online training, sample applications and a testing environment.

Some highlights:

Customers who create sites under the Force.com Free Edition get up to 250,000 page views per month at no charge. Enterprise Edition users get 500,000 complimentary monthly views, and Unlimited Edition subscribers receive 1,000,000. Additional 1,000,000-page view blocks can be purchased for $1,000 per month.

Independent research firm (read Spnsrd) Nucleus Research claims their analysis of existing Force.com application deployments and found an average of 4.9 times faster development( let us round it off to 5 times) . End customers, developers, and ISVs experience more rapid time to value, lower cost, and greater ongoing flexibility. link
